The speed of technological change means that these mechanisms evolve rapidly, as do the devices and technology available to the general public. Therefore, in order to guarantee an optimal service, it is necessary to establish digital identification and authentication mechanisms for city residents, with the inclusion of new authentication mechanisms.
We need to establish which authentication mechanisms are valid for each public service, taking into account the characteristics of each service and their risks. It is also necessary to properly inform the general public in order to ensure that they are familiar with all possible authentication mechanisms for gaining access to each public service.
