The digital market is a relational environment between the City Council and potential provider companies, which speeds up information and processes for both parties.
This digital market provides the City Council with the companies' experience and knowledge of the profile, while the companies gain access to newly published public offers, tenders and contracting processes, along with information regarding public contracting processes in general.
This digital environment favours transparency in public contracting processes and accountability. It helps in collaboration between companies, shortens contracting processes, lowers public-contract access barriers for small and medium-sized companies, and facilitates innovative public procurement processes.
Barcelona City Council has set in motion this new relational environment in the area of public contracting in technology, and will gradually extend its use to other areas of public contracting.
