Over 350 students took part in the third edition of IT.nerary Day, an event organised by Mobile World Capital Barcelona in partnership with Barcelona City Council to encourage the recruitment of international students by the main digital companies in the city.

The event attracted participants from over 60 countries – foreign students studying bachelor’s or master’s degrees or other programmes in the field of digital technology in Barcelona – as well as around 20 universities and 22 Barcelona-based companies looking to recruit tech profiles for a wide range of sectors, such as biopharmaceuticals, energy, food, the automotive industry, consumer electronics and mobility.

In the morning, participants took part in a group tour of two of these companies to learn about their work and their tech projects. At noon, the students and the companies’ representatives met at the site of the Old Estrella Damm Factory for a large networking event. The opening speeches were given by Jordi Arrufí, Chief Corporate Development Officer and head of Digital Talent at MWCapital, and Pau Solanilla, Barcelona City Council Commissioner for International Relations and City Promotion. There was also an area for contacting companies, where students had the chance to continue talking to recruiters and professionals from a variety of fields to create new contacts and relationships.

The event featured 22 companies (Allianz Technology, Alexion, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, EdPuzzle, Eurofirms, HP, Ingram Micro, Lufthansa by Quantion, MediaMarkt, Nestlé, Novartis, NTT Data, Ocado Technology, Pepsico, Porsche Digital, Ricoh, Sanofi, Schneider Electric, SEAT:CODE, Wordline and Zurich) and 20 educational institutions, including the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Open University of Catalonia, Barcelona Technology School, ESADE, EAE Business School, La Salle, Ironhack and the Barcelona School of Economics, among others.
