Barcelona Digital City

The second edition of the Barcelona Innovation Awards highlights the talent and creativity of traditional companies and start-ups using pioneering solutions to contribute to the city’s progress and the development of its business and technology network.

There are four awards categories:

• Disruptive Innovation: for projects that introduce significant changes in their sector through new technologies and processes.
• Sustainability: for initiatives that foster environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
• Social innovation or impact: for projects that address important social issues and drive community development.
• 22@ Innovation: for innovative solutions that boost the 22@ ecosystem and strengthen collaboration between its stakeholders.

The jury assessed criteria such as the feasibility, impact, creativity and scalability of the projects.

The awards in the different disciplines went to the following companies:

-Districte 22@ Innovation Award: Districlima
-Sustainability Award: Novapedra
-Social Innovation or Impact Award: Advanced telecare by SeniorDomo.
-Disruptive Innovation Award: Neurotwins by Neuroelectrics.

The ceremony for this year’s awards, given by Barcelona City Council and the 22@Network Barcelona, was organised to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the 22@ district, a driver for innovation and competitiveness in the city.

The Barcelona Innovation Awards, an initiative driven by the 22@Network Barcelona and Barcelona City Council, are aimed at celebrating and recognising the most notable advances in key areas for the progress and well-being of society.  The awards are intended to provide support and visibility for the most outstanding projects in the different categories. The goal is to recognise talent, foster creativity and drive initiatives that offer innovative solutions to current challenges for society, contributing to the progress and development of Barcelona.
