Mobile Week Barcelona spreads across Catalonia

Technology. Mobile Week Barcelona is on from 14 to 23 February, transforming the city’s districts into spaces for reflection and debate on our relationship with technology and its impact on society.

Art, science and technology are once again set to infuse the city for the third edition of Mobile Week, taking the digital transformation into the neighbourhoods with over thirty free activities for people of all ages. Following the success of the first two editions, the cities of Girona, Lleida, Reus and Igualada, as well as the Ribera d’Ebre area, are also joining in with the initiative and holding their own editions in parallel with the Barcelona event.

This year’s edition offers a programme made up of over eighty activities organised by the City Council and more than fifty others by collaborating entities, inviting the public to reflect on their relationship with technology and the impact it has on society.

The activities are being held at over sixty public spaces in the city and are grouped into four different formats: conferences, addressing current topics such as fake news and online privacy; workshops, offering participatory and inclusive experiences relating to the digital world; the exhibition at the Disseny Hub, with fourteen works of art reflecting on things such as artificial intelligence, the power of bitcoins, the influence of social networks in the media and the impact of robots on society, and family activities, for children, young people and adults to explore, research, make mistakes and create together.
