All that will happen in September at Design Hub

The Design Hub Barcelona will come back from the Summer holidays with an agenda full of activities, fairs and exhibitions that will be launched in September and will be extended throughout the fall!

One of the novelties will be the exhibition "Jumps around the city", which aims to build bridges between the centenary sports competition CSIO Barcelona and the Catalan capital. Designed by Elena Boix, responsible for the track, the show presents nine winning obstacles of the editions of the contest "A jump for City", which symbolize monuments and emblematic parts of the city, such as the Sagrada Familia, the Eixample and the subway’s network. The exhibition, which can be visited from September 10th to the 22nd, is designed in such a way that the user performs the same route as a rider does before competing in order to learn the order of obstacles.

The Museum of Design of Barcelona returns from the holidays leaving behind "The Best Design of the Year", an exhibition organised by FAD and located at the second floor of our building. Moreover, on September 27 the Museum will present its new temporary exhibition. "Joaquim Capdevila. Joyas 1959-2019", a retrospective dedicated to the jeweler and goldsmith on the 60th anniversary of his career. The exhibition, commissioned by the director of the Pilar Vélez Museum, brings together more than 130 pieces that are a portrait of Capdevila as a key figure of the Nova Joia in Catalonia.

The inauguration of this exhibition will coincide with the celebration of Enjoia't, a sample organised by the A-FAD in which we will see the finalists pieces of the Contemporary Jewellery Awards Enjoia't 2019. These awards have the will to recognise the most outstanding proposals and transgressors of the field. Two weeks later, on October 12, the winners of the Professional and Student categories, chosen by the jury, will be announced. Also, we will get to know the Opinion Award, which will be chosen by the attendees.

Apart, from September 27 to 28, the Design Hub Barcelona will be the place where the runners enrolled in the Mercè Race will have to collect their dorsals and chips, obligatory to participate. They will also be able to visit the Runner Attention Fair, which has become a meeting point for enthusiasts which offers a wide range of services.

In addition, and also on the occasion of the Mercè, we will celebrate an open day in which will accompany us a grand piano by the association of the Maria Canals International Music Competition of Barcelona. An invitation open to all visitors to play it and fill the building with music and design.

Finally, other events that will take place in the Design Hub in the fall will be the Intercluster Conference (September 16), courses and workshops such as "The restoration of the Burés house" (September 17) and "Strategy and Design in Retail" (19 of September), and the Gastroteca fair (from the 17th to the 20th of September). Write down these dates on your agendas so you not miss out anything!
