The best design of the year

One more year, the FAD brings us the best works of graphic and industrial design, architecture and art of the last year with the exhibition ‘The best design of the year’ with the collaboration of the Design Museum, one of the indispensable events for everyone who wants first-hand knowledge of the status of the world of design in our country.

The exhibition brings together the finalist and prize-winning works of the various disciplines of design, architecture and the arts organised by the FAD associations: the FAD Prizes of Architecture and Interior Design (ARQUIN-FAD), the ADG Laus Awards for Graphic Design and Visual Communication (ADG-FAD), the ADI Prizes for industrial design and design culture (ADI-FAD), the FAD Art Awards (A-FAD) and the Habitàcola Prizes for students of architecture and design (ARQUIN-FAD).

Among the awards, we highlight the BOB cleaning range of SP-Berner (Silver Delta), a sustainable product, of innovative design and integrated with the material culture of the country; Infinite Denim by Back to Eco (Silver Delta), made with a new eco and recycled material that self-produces to create new fabrics based on the circular economy; Damm's LatCub (Silver Delta), which provides an eco-friendly and responsible solution to the large market; or Oohbike by ÀNIMA Barcelona (Silver Delta), an innovative bicycle with a worked-out aesthetic.

We can also see the finalists for the FAD Awards. In the case of the FAD of Architecture and Interior Design, we will be able to see projects such as the social houses of Fabra & Coats and Cornellà, Ca la Closa, the Bloc 6x6, Space Ech or Casa Omar. As for those selected for the FAD Art Awards, we will be able to see pieces such as 'Arquitectura Residuos', by Cova Rios, 'Respiració de l’Univers', by Mònica Campdepadrós, 'Improvisaciones #3 #6 #8', by Gian Padilla, or 'Rosetta', by Lluc Baños.

In addition, this year the exhibition celebrates its 10th anniversary, being accompanied by a complete programme of parallel activities of companies, schools and professionals that are outstanding for their exemplarity in innovation, a complement of the ODS or the energy of the circular economy, creating a collective debate on good practices in design.

To know more about the exhibition, the Design Museum offers guided tours, which will take place from June 15 to July 30, from Tuesday to Friday, at a time to be agreed. The tours will be aimed for a maximum of 15 people, and can be in Catalan, Spanish or English. All guided tours will be programmed by pre-booking.
