Dates for the Barcelona Design Week 2020
From 9th-18th June, the 15th edition of Barcelona Design Week will be held with its epicenter at the Disseny Hub. An unavoidable appointment of design, innovation and creativity in Barcelona organized by the BCD Barcelona Center de Disseny and FAD Foment de les Arts i el Disseny, in collaboration with the Museu del Disseny. The objective of this event is to bring design closer to the citizens and mobilize the sector to share the vitality of the city's design with the world, highlighting its social and economic impact.
During the week the main design agents, as well as their followers, can participate in the Districte Disseny program. This will include more than 100 open activities all over the city, among which are exhibitions, workshops, conferences, open days and activities aimed at the professional and business community. In addition, Disseny Diagonal returns for the second consecutive year where several spaces of Avinguda Diagonal will be transformed into facilities and exhibitions.
Barcelona Design Week also recognizes the talent of designers and creators, and as usual, the associated FAD awards will be presented: the 62nd edition of the ARQUIN-FAD FAD Architecture and Interior Design Awards, the 50th of the ADG Laus of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of ADG-FAD, and the ADI 2020 Industrial Design Awards of ADI-FAD, which group the 40th Edition of the Delta Awards, 28th Edition of the ADI Medals and 3rd Edition of the ADI Culture Awards.
The main novelty of this year is the Forum FAD20 cycle: “The design gender”. Today, spaces, products, identities, campaigns and services are not gender neutral. “The design gender” offers a session of talks and other activities where we consider how we can design in a more gender neutral way.
The Nit Laus 2020 will close design week in the Catalan capital.
