Digital Realities in the new edition of Design Beyond Technology

The biennial project Design Beyond Technology returns on 25-26 March in an edition that will be held online and streamed from the showroom of Roca Barcelona Gallery. Participation in the second edition of this initiative driven by the Industrial Design Association of the FAD will, exceptionally, be free of charge, with prior registration.

The Design Beyond Technology seminars will have the central theme of Digital Realities and will revolve around four major axes: design, technology, the future and sustainability. The programme of this 2021 edition includes various conferences and case studies. The first speakers have already been announced, including experts in the field of design and technology at the national and international levels: Bas Van de Poel (SPACE10, Modem), Diego López Urruchi (Norman Foster Foundation), Fredo de Smet, Isabelle Olsson (Google), Kris de Decker (Low Tech Magazine), Matteo Guarnaccia and Gabriel Alonso (Institute for Postnatural Studies) and Qin Li (Fuseproject).

Design Beyond Technology is addressed to designers, engineers, technological companies and start-ups, and also to universities, research centres and the general public interested in design and technology. Its objective is to stimulate the designers and attendees to reflect on their future role within their discipline in relation with technology and to reveal new creative processes related with technological, digital and virtual research.
