“Openness” is a philosophy and a way of doing things based on openness, transparency and free access to knowledge with the aim to share, improve, personalize and decentralize the design process. 4.0 industry allows anyone to freely access to drawings and archives for digital fabrication, download the instructions from a website, purchase the materials and manufacture them locally with onsite local suppliers. Product Design students from the higher education institution ESDAP Catalunya, School of Design and Visual Arts of Catalonia, present proposals for furniture and simple objects that are easy to fabricate and open code.
