Temporarily out of service - Loungers

Every day of the week from 10 am to 20 pm, pedestrians travelling through Plaça de les Glòries have available an area equipped with public use furniture where they can stop and enjoy the surroundings and their free time. The furniture provided for users consists of loungers, chairs, tables and parasols. The contractor for the service of putting out and taking in the furniture is Fundació Surt, a non-profit organisation which works to find employment for vulnerable people. In addition since Friday 29 May there have also been three chairs with a USB connection so that users can recharge the battery of their electronic devices while taking a break. These chairs have a built-in solar panel which means users can charge their mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, e-books, etc.) via a USB cable connection while enjoying the sun, chatting with someone or reading a book. In other words you can soak up the sun and continue using your electronics without worrying in the slightest about the battery running down as the lounger means you can recharge them on the spot. You can also borrow books and board games from a mobile library in Loungers Square. Note: the service is not available on rainy days.
