The Museu d'Història de Barcelona (MUHBA) is organising various discussions in March and April about important and pioneering women in the Second Spanish Republic, such as Irene Polo, along with a tribute to schoolteachers and an event with music from the Sexenio Democrático.
The sessions get under way with a discussion centring on the pioneering journalist Irene Polo, who became an important chronicler of republican Barcelona. Philosopher and journalist Glòria Santa-Maria Batlló will be explaining how at just 21 years of age, Polo’s vital, dynamic and committed prose made her part of the most innovative journalism of the time.
