Health
Social and gender inequalities condition people’s health. In Barcelona, women have a longer life expectancy than men, but lower perceived health status, poorer mental health, higher morbidity and more chronic disorders.
This is why Barcelona City Council and the Public Health Agency are working to improve their understanding of Barcelona residents’ health from the gender, intersectional and life-cycle perspective; to reduce social inequalities in health in the city; and to promote physical, mental, sexual and reproductive health, as well as workplace health.
