Covid-19. Contact with representatives from various Christian churches and the Muslim and Jewish communities is being facilitated.

Old people’s residences now provide remote spiritual support so that their residents can communicate with representatives of various religious groups. The aim is to facilitate religious practices at an emotionally complex time caused by the lockdown in response to the Covid-19 crisis.

The Religious Affairs Office has prepared a list of contacts, in collaboration with the Catholic, Orthodox and various Protestant churches and with the Muslim and Jewish communities.

Spiritual support will be given through three hundred tablets that are being distributed to old people’s residence and which will enable users to make phone and video calls as well as exchange messages.

The tablets are being distributed by the VinclesBCN municipal service whose goal is to fight against the isolation of elderly people and make the most of new technologies so residents can stay in touch with their friends and family.
