The Women and Sport Awards, promoted by Barcelona City Council, highlight the careers of women and entities that stand out for their commitment to physical activity and sport in the city.
This award, launched in 2006 under the name Mireia Tapiador Award, was created with the aim of giving visibility to the work of sportswomen, women sports directors, communicators and promoters, and collectives and clubs that help to foster a more inclusive, equitable and transformative sporting practice.
Over the years, new competition categories have been added to respond to the diverse range of profiles that make up the city’s sport ecosystem. For the 2025 edition, there are five categories:

Award for the best sports club in the city

Best Woman Sports Manager Award
Nominations can be submitted either for individuals or entities and entries will be judged in particular on their career, community impact and commitment to gender equality in sport.
Through these awards, Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to becoming a city that recognises and projects women’s leadership in sport, promoting positive role models for all generations and helping to build a more just and egalitarian society.
