What is a Purple Point?
A Purple Point is a space within a festive and leisure context, which aims to raise awareness and provide timely attention to sexist and LGBTIphobic violence.
This space has responsible personnel who carry out prevention tasks (awareness, information), immediate attention and activation of the necessary resources in the context of the party. It has communication and prevention material available to the public, and is a place where situations of violence can be made known, protocols activated, or other needs derived from aggressions that may occur.
The purple point is located in a fixed place in the public space, and is identified as such. It is the place where information is provided and where diverse and inclusive materials and information are available in relation to sexist violence.
It can also be made up of Itinerant Couples. These are people who move around the party site, surrounding streets and who carry out the functions of the Purple Point by moving around the space. They constitute a coordinated link at all times with the fixed point. The purple points are located where there is a festive event and therefore are not permanent services, and are available during the dates and times that the festive event they serve is in operation.
