Interchange between lines 4 and 5 in the Verdaguer station closed for accessibility work

- Estació de metro Verdaguer (L5)
- Sortida de metro adaptada
As from Monday, 13 October, and during the next 12 months, the corridor connecting lines 4 and 5 in the Verdaguer metro station will be closed for accessibility work. Users will have to make the connection using the street while the work is carried out that will allow for the existing steps at the interchange to be replaced with ramps.
The interchange between lines will need to be done from Pg. Sant Joan, if changing from the L4, and C/ Provença as far as the entrance to the L5 at the junction with C/ Bailèn, and the other way around if the origin is the L5. Exits from both directions and the connection in the street will be duly signposted and no journeys deducted from passengers when re-entering the station and validating their travel.
Executed by the Catalan government’s Ministry for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, the work here began early in 2025 with the first stage, which will include the installation of three lifts as well as the ramps. One will connect the street with the L5 foyer, and two will connect the L4 foyer with the respective platforms, which will be raised in both directions, towards La Pau and towards Trinitat Nova.
Future second stage
With the execution of this first stage, the L4 station will be adapted. The accessibility work will be completed with a second stage, to include the new L4 and L5 foyers, the connection with the platforms of the L5 and the process to raise the L5 platforms. The Ministry for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition is currently drafting the corresponding final construction project, with work valued at 19 million euros.
