Saturday, 26 April, brings the first opportunity for people to stroll around and discover the new spaces at the Parc de les Glòries, Barcelona’s new green lung occupying a space where private vehicles reigned just a few years ago. The celebration is from 10.30 am to 6 pm, with the park offering an extensive programme of activities for a historic day.

On Saturday visitors can discover the Umbracle and the Àgora Berta Càceres, access the metro via the new Jardí d’Immersió and play for hours in the dynamic play area. Besides discovering all the corners of the park, all those who come along can enjoy numerous activities for all the family: musical performances and children’s entertainment, dance, storytelling and puppets for little ones, workshops to discover the park and the surrounding facilities, and hot chocolate for everybody to have breakfast and start the day full of energy.

Programme, from 10.30 am to 6 pm

Main stage in the Umbracle

• From 10.30 am to 11 am. Hot chocolate and sweet flatbreads for all.
• From 11 am to 12 noon. Performance by Ambauka.
• From 12 noon to 12.30 pm. Hot chocolate and sweet flatbreads for all.
• From 12.30 pm to 2 pm. Swing workshop and dance with A Swing Band.
• From 4 pm to 4.45 pm. Set de Màgia show.
• From 5 pm to 6 pm. Performance by Todos los gatos son pardos (tribute to Gato Pérez).

Stage at the Àgora Berta Càceres (children’s activities)

• From 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. Children’s workshop “Memory and Action”, organised by the XEAB (Barcelona Network of Environmental Facilities).
• 12 noon. Storytelling, with Assumpta Mercader – Cia. Aktes Teatre (Contes d’aigua dolça i salada).
• 1 pm. Puppets, with Pengim Penjam (Les aventures de la Libel·lulina).
• 4 pm. Storytelling, with Keke Shuga – Cia. Aktes Teatre (L’estrelleta Facunda).
• From 4 pm to 6 pm. Children’s workshop “Memory and Action”, organised by the XEAB.
• 5.15 pm. Puppets, with Pengim Penjam (Les aventures de la Libel·lulina).

• From 11.30 am to 1 pm. International Dance Day, with Esbart Sant Martí de Barcelona – Ballet Folklòric dels Països Catalans.

• 12 noon. Stroll by Pepa and Paco, the giant bears from Encants Barcelona-Fira de Bellcaire.

• 5 pm. Stroll by the giants Pere and Pepa, the giants from the neighbourhood of Sagrada Família.

• From 10 am to 8 pm. Open day at the Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHub).
• From 10.45 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 5.30 pm. Dissemination space about the Parc de les Glòries. Brief talks organised by the XEAB (Barcelona Network of Environmental Facilities) to learn all the park’s secrets. Check times at the marquee.
• From 11 am to 3 pm. Come and play chess, by Club d’Escacs Foment Martinenc.

• From 10.30 am to 2.30 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm. Complete these four workshops and win one of 500 free tickets to the Mirador Torre Glòries! (Entrance tickets for minors under the age of 17. Don’t forget to get the passport stamped in the workshops).
