The Punt Verd Mòbil Escolar (PVM Escolar)[Mobile Green Point for Schools] is born out of the need to provide schools in the city of Barcelona with a practical system to allow them to get rid of their special category waste, which because of its composition should not be discarded in the standard litter bins on the street, but requires a specific collection and treatment channel to improve environmental management.

The service is provided free of charge to all educational institutions in Barcelona: they first file a request and will then be visited by a truck to perform the selective collection of special category waste. The students themselves go along to deposit the waste, either on their own or accompanied by the staff of the centre or otherwise their families. A visit by the PVME is therefore a good opportunity to raise awareness as to the importance of our daily actions in discarding any special category waste we generate.
