Barcelona City Council

The Barcelona Institute of Culture, on behalf of the Barcelona City Council, is launching the 2024 City of Barcelona Awards.

These awards aim to reward high-quality works or actions of creation, research and production in Barcelona by creators or groups working in the city or institutions and organisations from Barcelona that promote or produce them. The awarded works must contribute to cultural development and be embedded within the city's fabric, engaging creators, associations, public institutions, and cultural industries.

In the 2024 edition, the City of Barcelona Awards will recognise works or actions that have excelled during the 2024 calendar year in the sixteen categories defined in the call for nominations. As a result, the 2024 edition will award a total of sixteen prizes.

• Culture and education
• Catalan literature
• Spanish literature
• Music
• Catalan translation

The public announcement of the jury's verdict and the corresponding award ceremony will take place in two separate institutional events. The first event, which will focus on categories related to culture and art, is scheduled to take place in the Saló de Cent room at Barcelona City Hall on 18 February 2025. The second event, dedicated to the science categories, will be held at a location and on a date to be confirmed. Both events will be presided over by the mayor or by a delegate appointed by them.
