The various official and professional responsibilities that you have held reveal a combative, rigorous woman.

As Pasqual Maragall once said, Barcelona is its people. That affirmation is just as true today. Our city model is based on providing solutions to the specific problems of people, groups and the population as a whole. In collaboration with city stakeholders and all public administrations, our duty is to ensure high-quality services and that no one is left behind.

Social policies are at the heart of our project. The quality of people’s lives cannot be separated from their access to healthcare, education, social services and culture. In order to guarantee these rights universally, it is especially important to approach all public policies from a feminist perspective and to deal with the specific needs of the most vulnerable groups.

Therefore, as Second Deputy Mayor for Social Rights, Culture, Education and Life Cycles, you will be responsible for the following priorities:

• Leading our commitment to education. Defending an inclusive, innovative model for combating educational gaps. Expanding nursery schools, for high-quality dual education and life-long education, and for integrating new technologies into the sector.
• Coordinating a cross-cutting vision of healthcare in public policies. It is especially important to progress towards a greater integration of health services and the provision of social services. Updating and promoting policies associated with emotional well-being and mental health.
• Ensuring the presence of feminism in all areas of public policies. It is only possible to combat gender inequalities in a cross-cutting way. Fostering initiatives aimed at ensuring equality in the workplace. Providing support for the fight against gender violence and ensuring safer public spaces. Promoting co-education and shared responsibility in the area of education and new uses of time, as well as promoting awareness-raising campaigns.
• Working towards an inclusive Barcelona. Coordinating a team whose mission is to ensure that all city groups receive proper assistance, according to their particular needs. Ensuring cross-cutting policies for helping people with disabilities. Forming specific policies for assisting people at all stages of their lives. Encouraging democratic coexistence for an integrating city, while also being proud of its diversity.
• Providing support for a creative Barcelona and its creative industries. Defending measures aimed at increasing audiences for culture and providing support for artistic creation. Ensuring improved governance of our cultural institutions and promoting our cultural projection worldwide.
