Organised by Barcelona City Council, the registration period for The Nose Race (Cursa dels Nassos) is now open on the website.

The last four editions of this race saw all the available places filled, with nearly 11,000 runners taking part in the last edition. More number bibs are available this year, with the total rising to 11,500.

In its annual ranking of the best runs in the world in terms of organisation and finishing times, World Athletics, the highest body in this sport, listed The Nose Race as the world’s top event in the women’s category.

As ever, the run will be held on 31 December with a fast route of 10 kilometres, marked every 500 metres and with 29 pacemakers.

In the last four editions, a 5 kilometre run has also been organised for international athletes. The men’s and women’s records both fell in 2021, with Berihu Aregawi clocking up a time of 12’49” in the men’s event and Taye Haylu crossing the line in 14’19” in the women’s race.

Beatrice Chebet set a new women’s record in 2023 in a time of 14’12”, while Dominic Lobalu set a European record in 13’12”. Both records still stand.
