The 33rd City of Barcelona International Polo Trophy (TICB) to be decided this weekend

The trophy ceremony will take place on Sunday 24 October.

The 33rd edition of the City of Barcelona International Polo Trophy kicked off on 15 October at the Barcelona Royal Polo Club. The winner is set to be decided on Sunday 24 October in a closely disputed contest which will see the world’s best riders compete in the Catalan capital.

Sigma Polo Team find themselves at the top of the table after the first weekend, emerging victorious in their first three fixtures against Horseware (8-7), Think Zero (8-2.5) and the Ampurdán Polo Club (10-2).

Horseware are currently second in the standings, having registered two wins and one defeat in the first weekend of the competition. Think Zero are in third place with one win to their name so far. So far, Ampurdán Polo Club are yet to record a victory in this year’s competition.

The next round of fixtures begins today, with two games being played every day until each team has played a total of six games. The side that registers the most wins will be proclaimed as champion at midday on Sunday 24 October.

High performance levels at the Barcelona Royal Polo Club

The best national players and a wide representation of international polo players will be competing over six days at the Barcelona Royal Polo Club’s facilities, which had played host only a few weeks ago to the CSIO.
