The Barcelona Triathlon by Santander will not be going ahead this 2020. Barcelona City Council, the organisers of this athletics race, has had to cancel the event planned for 4 October, given the development of the health crisis and the increasing number of COVID-19 outbreaks throughout the Spanish State.
The current situation has been making it impossible for the organisers to guarantee the quality standards that define what is Spain’s biggest crowd-pulling triathlon, which stands out for bringing together, year after year, athletes from around the world. This international side to the race has been a crucial factor in the decision taken, where the health and safety of everyone taking part are a priority.
The organisers apologise for the inconvenience this decision may cause the athletes and everyone else involved in this sports event. Anyone already registered with the Barcelona Triathlon by Santander will emailed information on all the options at their disposal for managing their registration.
