With the arrival of Phase 2, Barcelona progresses towards the resumption of sporting activities

Reopenings. Through the Barcelona Institute of Sports, Barcelona City Council is continuing the process of resuming normalised sports activities in the city, which began on 2 May.

Since Phase 0 of the lockdown exit, professional and federated sports people, as well as the general public, have been able to do some outdoor sports activities. More recently, with Phase 1, they have been able to use some specific outdoor facilities.

Now, with the arrival of Phase 2 of the lockdown exit, the city is taking another step towards the resumption of its sporting activities. From today, more outdoor sports facilities will gradually be opening for non-contact sports, without spectators, along with specialised indoor sports facilities. Changing rooms cannot be used in either of these cases.

More specifically, the following municipal facilities will now be open to the public:

  • Athletics tracks: Estadi Municipal Joan Serrahima, Pista Municipal Atletisme Parc del Migdia-Complex Esportiu Municipal Pau Negre, Complex Esportiu Municipal Can Dragó, Complex Esportiu Municipal La Mar Bella.


  • Facilities in Montjuïc: La Foixarda Municipal Horse Riding School, the Agility Club and the Municipal Archery Butts.


  • Velòdrom Municipal d’Horta Miquel Poblet bicycle track, the Montjuïc Model Aeroplane Ground, the La Foixarda Municipal Rock Climbing Centre, the Reina Elisenda Municipal Table Tennis Centre, the Reina Elisenda Municipal Fencing Centre and La Campa in Vall d’Hebron.
