DespertaLab Grant 2019
The aim of the annual grant is to give support to companies in the process of creating their play productions and contribute to their insertion within professional networks of arts dissemination and promotion. Beyond providing resources for the production of a play, from the point of creation through to its publicity, it offers a formative experience which gives companies the necessary resources and skills for future professional challenges, while having a bearing on the creation and production process, communication and promotion. The grant, in short, is a means of fostering the life of the project beyond its initial creation.
In this round of grants two projects on a national scale will be chosen.

The company will receive 60% of the box-office receipts taken during the performance period, in return for the organization offering promotional support for the season (including specific projects) and providing technicians for the staging of performances.
-
The committee reserves the right to award second prizes under different conditions to those established in this document.
-
The committee can declare the prize null and void.
-
La Nau Ivanow and Sala Atrium, with its logos, will be included as co-producers in the credits and in all types of communication and dissemination material of future performances. During the period of rehearsals and performance established in the prize, the rights of performance of the work will be relinquished to la Nau Ivanow and Sala Atrium.

There will be at least one open rehearsal for the committee to give their approval before the first public performance of the play.
-
The possible staging of performances in other theatres after the next season of dramatic creation, as a consequence of collaborations during the project with other institutions from the sector, will be a decision for the grant-winning company. The conditions of these performances will be agreed between the company and the theatre, without the participation of the Nau Ivanow or Sala Atrium in either the negotiation or the costs generated by these events.
-
The grant for this season of drama is not incompatible with other prizes or subsidies, provided the work has never been performed in public.
-
Those organising the season of drama will follow the process to ensure good coordination and smooth relations between the company or creator, the Nau Ivanow and Sala Atrium.
Assessment Criteria
The committee will judge projects according to their originality, artistic value and impact, as well as for their technical viability and the professional trajectory of the participants.
Selection
The selection of the successful projects will be under the care of a committee made up of representatives of Nau Ivanow, Sala Atrium and others; their decision will be final. If deemed appropriate, the committee may arrange an interview for finalists to explain their project in greater depth.
