Ninth Season of Els Malnascuts

ELS MALNASCUTS is a theatre laboratory whose purpose is for young people between 16 and 30 (professional or otherwise) to be able to experiment in any field of the dramatic arts. Our aim is to broaden the settings in which we are used to working and create a space for risk and the discovery of new possibilities of expression.

 

Shows by ELS MALNASCUTS are created from an open call for applicants from whom a group emerges. This will form the artistic team for the show or play that will then be created together. After several months of rehearsal, a performance of the results of the experimentation will be staged at Sala Beckett.

Young people aged 16-30, professional or otherwise, musicians, poets, dramatists, dancers, assistant directors, perfumers, carpenters, painters, architects, producers, sound engineers, directors, set designers, wardrobe artists, film makers, aesthete-theorists, djs, gaffers, ninis/NEETs, prop makers, physios, humanists, philosophers, YouTubers, trappers, biologists, engineers, fashion designers, photographers, mappers.

Calendar

Deadline for Submission of Proposals: 14 October 2018 at 23.59 h
Stage (shortlisted candidates): 3 and 4 November, 10am-8pm.
Decision: 5/6 November 2018
Start of Rehearsals: 10 November 2018
Rehearsal Hours: Fridays & Saturdays, 10am-8pm, November-March.
Performance: 13-31 March 2018

Application Submission

To take part in the application process:

 

A. With an idea,

  1. Upload a presentation video showing what the candidate wishes to bring to the project to Youtube or Vimeo (maximum 1 hr 30 min: please do not send video books or CVs).
  2. Send a piece of writing explaining the idea, lines of research, references or starting point. The format is free but must be concrete and specific.

 

B. With the hope of participating in the creative process,

  1. Upload a presentation video showing what the candidate wishes to bring to the project to Youtube or Vimeo (maximum 1 hr 30 min: please do not send video books or CVs).
