23 January, 2019 - 00:01 to 23 April, 2019 - 23:59

MIRA Digital Arts Festival and HANGAR.ORG have joined forces to create a season of residencies centred on the creation of 360° immersive content for domes and planetaria.

The call envisages the production and research of new narratives for domes and planetaria. The residency is aimed at Spanish and international artists who need technical services and support, work spaces and the context provided by Hangar and Mira for the development of a 360° piece. The work will be displayed as part of the MIRA Festival from 7-9 November, 2019.

Technical assistance and annual tutoring, as well as the residency, must allow the conception, formalisation, production and finalisation of the project. The residency and the Hangar and MIRA DOME installations must be equipped to complete the final details and adjustments of the project, with the aim of it being exposed/presented as part of the 2019 MIRA festival.

Projects submitted must respond to the following factors:

  • Exploration of augmented visual environments and interactivity
  • Research into omnidirectional and spatialized sound systems
  • Uniqueness and innovation in narrative content
  • Mixing or interaction with different digital techniques

Special consideration will also be given to those projects that insert, in distinctive ways, one or more of the elements that enrich the immersive experience for an audience by highlighting the special characteristics of the medium. Finished works must last for 15-20 minutes.

Projects will be supervised from March onwards. The artist will have to be assessed on a monthly basis, sending graphic material showing the development and progression of the project.
