Residency Categories
1. Research residency (in rehearsal room): aimed at individuals, collectives and companies involved in dance and new stage forms, whether from Spain or overseas, who would like to develop a piece of research or creation, even where the overall objective is not the immediate performance of the show. This residency will allow for flexible and agreed working hours, but also an opportunity to encounter other artists, disciplines and specialists who can engender arts-related research. This is not a technical residency and so the rooms available will not have access to stage lighting devices. If available, video-projection and sound equipment will be provided.
The spaces where the residency can be carried out comprise the different rehearsal rooms at L’Estruch. (More information: http://lestruch.sabadell.cat/espais)
The length of the residency will depend on the requirements and nature of each project; it will have a maximum of 4 weeks and a timetable of 10am until 3pm or 3pm to 8pm (rooms will not be available for exclusive use).
2. Technical residency (in the theatre): aimed at individuals, collectives and companies involved in dance and new stage forms, whether from Spain or beyond, who are working on a show, are reaching the final stages of their creative process and require technical support to conclude the final production.
The space where the residency can be carried out is the Teatre de L’Estruch. (More information: http://lestruch.sabadell.cat/espais)
The length of the residency will be 5 days, from Tuesday to Saturday, and there will be exclusive access to the room. L’Estruch will supply the necessary personnel to monitor the technical facilities, at all time in relation to the Theatre’s existing materials. The working hours will be from 10am to 2pm and 3-7pm, with the possibility of performing the theatre project within L’Estruch’s programme schedule at the end of the residency if agreed.
Candidate Application Submission
Please fill in the application form and send it to: estruch@ajsabadell.cat with the heading "Residència de dansa i nous formats escènics".
A dossier with project description and artist or company CV (in pdf format no larger than 3MB) must be attached to the same email.
Grant Conditions
It will be mandatory for the selected company or artist to print in all promotional material related to the show-in-production the logo of the centre and that of the Ajuntament de Sabadell in its partnering role.
Artists involved in the selected projects must agree to take part in the different activities that are decided by the centre management: inclusion of the show in the programmes of dissemination, events bringing resident artists together or inclusion in L’Estruch’s Educational Programme.
The selected companies or artists in residency will sign a document regulating the lease of the space, in which will be set out the timetable, hours and rooms used, as well as an acceptance of the norms of usage and, where appropriate, the agreed commitments made by the companies or artists in exchange for the creation residency.
L’Estruch reserves the right to alter the timetable requested in a bid to organise a definitive programme of residencies. Non-compliance on the part of the selected company or artist with these conditions will render null and void the lease of the spaces set aside for the residencies.
