Ròmbic Residency 2020

Admission is now open for applications from performing arts projects for technical residences at the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris theatre as part of Ròmbic (Adult Puppet Festival). This festival will take place in April 2020 and is organised jointly by the Associació Titellaire de Roquetes (Les Roquetes Puppeteer Association), el Taller de marionetes Pepe Otal (Pepe Otal Puppet Workshop) and Ateneu.

Target Candidate

Ateneu is looking for puppet theatre projects, aimed specifically at an adult audience, that wish to stage classic or contemporary texts, as well as new theatre art (original works or adaptations) or collective creation.

Residency Features

The submitted projects must be shows that are in the closing stages of their creation and will be ready to be premiered in the framework of the Ròmbic festival at the end of the residency. Options for the residency include installations of scenery, establishing a lighting plan, finalising sound design, etc...

Conditions

Ateneu offers

  • Theatre room at Ateneu Popular 9 Barris for one and a half weeks (Monday-Saturday, full or half day)
  • Exclusive space throughout the residency with possibility of set installation
  • Technical material and a prepaid bundle of hours with in-house sound and lighting technicians (to be negotiated according to requirements)
  • Possibility of closed sessions for producers
  • Residency project backing and dissemination
  • Lunches throughout the residency week and financial backing according to technical requirements
  • Premiere as part of the Ròmbic Festival

  • One member of the Associació Titellaire de Roquetes
  • One member of the Taller de Marionetes Pepe Otal
  • One professional from the puppet sector
  • One member of the scheduling committee at Ateneu Popular 9 barris

Application Submission

To register for the open call, applicants must send a dossier in PDF format that allows all relevant material and information to be attached. The whole should be submitted in digital format to the email address programacio@ateneu9b.net.

  • Planning proposal for the residency
