The Fundació Julio Muñoz Ramonet was created in 1994 to fulfil the entrepreneur’s last wishes, who died in 1991. In his will, he bequeathed his estate on calle de Muntaner, with all its contents, to the city of Barcelona with the aim of being preserved and visited by the general public. The objective is to promote, disseminate and defend cultural heritage.

On October 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Foundation reopens its doors with free guided tours of the garden and the main house for the general public.
From September, we resume activities in the garden. During the months of July and August, come for a walk in the garden. It will be open every day from 10am to 8pm.
The C1ENCI4RT cycle, programmed by Science and Universities of Barcelona City Council, returns to the Foundation’s garden. Science and art will come together again, highlighting the close link between the two disciplines.
This second cycle will consist of six activities with the same characteristics as in the previous edition: aimed for children, family audiences, and all those passers-by who want to stay. They will be held during the spring, from March to June, always on Sunday and at 12 noon.

The garden of the Foundation Julio Muñoz Ramonet will receive distinct of activities that form part of this International Symposium, devoted to foster the interdisciplinary academic speech centered at the intersections of the art, the design, the science, the tech and the society.
The SIMFONIC Simultaneous Concert Festival has chosen the garden of the Foundation where the concert of Combos, Cor Eirené and Cor Swing Sisters of the Escola de Música de Gràcia will take place.

First-year students of the Nausica School, after a fascinating journey through ancient Greece, they discovered that the neighborhood is full of columns. Wishing to discover more of these architectural elements, it took them to the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation; a garden full of columns and statues that became the perfect environment to enjoy a unique moment in which they were aware of the pleasure of drawing in a relaxed way in an oasis in the middle of the city.
After years of litigation, and once part of the art collection has recovered, and with full capacity to act on real estate, the JMR Foundation has begun work to address the rehabilitation of the buildings. With the recovery of an important part of the works of the legacy, it is necessary for the Foundation to put the buildings into operation and open them to the public to promote art and culture.
The students of the first years of the Nausica School exhibited in the garden of the Foundation a large nativity scene made in small boxes where each of the students presented their nativity scene made with different recycled materials.
During the months of September, October and November, science and art will go hand in hand in the garden of the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation.
It will be a cycle of 6 activities aimed at children and families in general, which have been programmed by the Department of Science and Universities of Barcelona City Council.
In this cycle we will see the link between physics and the circus, mathematics and magic, chemistry and cooking, nature and music or science and the visual arts, aesthetics or beauty.
This month, the annual Meeting of the Barcelona Tree of Local Interest Commission was held at the Foundation's headquarters, with the aim of cataloging the most valuable specimens in the streets and private gardens of our city.
On July 8, a solidarity concert was held in the garden, organized by Son Canciones, within the Indies Keeping Secrets Solidaris cycle The money raised went entirely to the Mano Amiga project of the IURAA Association. The performance was given by the singer from Luxembourg, C'est Karma.
For a year, as a result of the Covid-19, the Casal de Gent Gran de Sant Ildefons in the Galvany neighborhood has carried out different activities in the Foundation's garden.
During the months of January and February, TV3 has made different sequences of the series Com si fos ahir, in the Foundation's garden.

Organized by the Municipal Management, it is an annual meeting that brings together the directors of Barcelona City Council and its institutes, consortia and dependent companies to share municipal projects and strategies.
This year the Board of Directors was held exceptionally in electronic format from the JMR Foundation and was attended by more than 300 municipal managers.
These works have been requisitioned in an operation carried out by the Civil Guard\'s Central Operational Unit for Patrimony (UCO) and, for the most part, coincide with the list of works claimed.
The Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (UPC-ETSAB), I gave its first face-to-face class of the Theory II subject in the garden of the Foundation.
The maintenance and preservation of the garden requires constant tasks. Occasionally, the fruits of some of its trees are collected. This year, the avocado harvest has been very good and, in small quantities, they are offered to the people who come for a walk in the garden.
Advocado trees are very rare in the city of Barcelona and the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation has one of the biggest in the city.

Due to improvement works being carried out on the garden, the theatre performance Don Julio, el retorn [Don Julio, the return], scheduled on 24th November, will be held on the same day, however there will only be one performance at 6 p.m. at the Born Centre Cultural i Memòria, no. 12 plaça Comercial.
On Wednesday 12th June, at 7 p.m., marking the eighth anniversary of Can Batlló, the presentation of the collective book Muñoz Ramonet, retrat dún home sense imatge (Comanegra 2019), took place at the Auditori de Can Batlló.
For the third consecutive year, the Festival of Simultaneous Concerts has chosen the Foundations garden as a venue. This time the concert will be played by Virtèlia Escola de Música.
On 15th May we had the pleasure of accompanying a group of 25 people from the Casal de Gent Gran of Sant Ildefons. We walked through this historical garden, recounting its history and restoration process.
On 23rd April at 6 p.m., the Compañía Jordi Font will present the show entitled El Contador de leyendas [The storyteller of legends]. A musician and an actor come together to tell stories and legends from Catalan lands. A show for all audiences.The book Muñoz Ramonet, retrato de un hombre sin imagen [Muñoz Ramonet, portrait of a man without image] will also be sold at this event.
The concert will be performed in the main house on 6th April by the Limnos Quartet, a saxophone ensemble playing their original pieces, as well as others written for the organ, string quartet or orchestra, but today performed by the four saxophones.
During the conference held in the main house on 5th April, Professor Esther Alsina discussed how Julio Muñoz Ramonet became the owner of one of the most important art collections, previously owned by Rómulo Bosch i Catalina. On 29th June, two of the most important artworks that the industrialist Julio Muñoz Ramonet bequeathed to the Foundation, were returned to the city of Barcelona.
The Instituto Municipal del Paisaje Urbano signed an agreement with the Fundació Julio Muñoz Ramonet and the estates neighbourhood community which is adjacent to the gardens, to restore and embellish the dividing wall.
After years of lawsuits to recover the art collection, on 29th June, two of the most important works that the industrialist Julio Muñoz Ramonet bequeathed to the Foundation that bears his name were returned to the city of Barcelona! They are The Annunciation by El Greco and The Apparition of the Virgin of the Pillar by Goya.

el tiempo del Sr. Muñoz [In the days of Mr Muñoz], is a show for the
general public to participate and interact with the performance that
focuses on the day-to-day life of the factory, its workers and the
people of the neighbourhood. The show will be performed within Can
Batlló, in several streets and industrial warehouses of the old factory.
The garden of the Fundació Julio Muñoz Ramonet was opened on Sunday 5th June to the general public, as a new green space in the city. The opening ceremony took place in the morning with activities for all the family including music, painting and storytelling.
The first Sunday of every month (except for August), the Foundation hosts monthly activities aimed at the general public and families. The Mediterranean garden offers a calm environment where you can enjoy different types of activities: storytelling, clowns, puppets, dance, theatre, etc.
