In 2021, the Board of Trustees of the JMR Foundation approved the Master Plan consisting of a Functional Plan and Space Needs Program for the complex of buildings and garden of the legacy of Julio Muñoz Ramonet, and an investment item was incorporated into the Municipal Investment Plan to design the architectural project for the rehabilitation of the estate. The Master Plan foresees, in addition to guarding, studying, restoring and managing a large art collection, allocating the spaces to the following activities:
- A space that organizes cultural and artistic activities
- A center that generates local activities
- A space for reflection and artistic and scientific creation with residence
The architectural project provides for the rehabilitation of the estate, its two houses by the architect Sagnier and the Forestier garden to create a new cultural center. One of the buildings that will host a residency for artists and scientists, along with a space for disseminating art and science projects.
The creation of the hub will allow the multiple art and science projects that are being developed in the City to grow, with the aim of generating a strategy with a vision of the city and metropolitan region in relation to Art and Science, in the sense of having a node (or hub) that is a point of reference in Art and Science in the city, and in southern Europe.
To support the Hub of art and science, the Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the framework of the cultural and scientific capital of Barcelona, has awarded a direct concession grant in favor of the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation, for the drafting of the architectural project that allows the construction of a residency for artists and scientists, together with a space for disseminating art and science projects, at the headquarters of the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation, for an amount of 50,000.00 euros, under the name \'To the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation Muñoz Ramonet for the construction of a residence for artists and scientists at the headquarters\'.
