The general goal is to reduce the number of accidents involving these vehicles, the number of victims they cause and the severity of injuries sustained.
The citywide campaign will be in place around the clock until Sunday, 14 January, with checks on the following:
- the correct use and circulation of cycles, bicycles, personal mobility vehicles and cycles with more than two wheels
- the obligations of drivers and riders of other types of motor vehicles and pedestrians with regard to cyclists
- cycles with more than two wheels (with or without assisted pedalling) offering passenger transport services (rickshaws) for profit and operating without a licence.
The campaign has been planned and coordinated with the Catalan Traffic Service and the Mossos d’Esquadra police corps.
