On 4 April, the presentation of the collaboration agreements took place to put the digital participation platform Decidim within the reach of the city’s associative fabric. The agreement has been signed between the City Council and the different entities in the fields of community action and the social and solidarity economy.
The agreement aims to promote participation and democracy among organised citizens. To make this possible, Barcelona City Council will provide the entities with the technical installation of the platform and advice on its correct use, and they undertake to comply with the platform’s Social Contract and to participate in the Decidim community.
The agreement lasts for two years with the intention that, at the end of this period, the entities will can be self-sufficient with respect to the maintenance and administration of the platform. The entities that are part of the agreements are: Barceloneta Alerta, Asociación Ágora, CAB, Escoltes Catalans, Federació d’Entitats en Salut Mental en 1a Persona, Federació d’Escoltisme i Guiatge, Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social, FAVB, Federació d’Ateneus de Catalunya, Lafede, Foodcoop, l’Economat Social, Fòrum Mundial per les Economies
Transformadores, Som Connexió i la XES.
The Decidim digital platform, made with open source, wants to be at the service of citizens, being a reference tool for participation. During the last three years it has spread to more than one hundred cities and organizations around the world.
