The exhibition “Heralds! Els vestits de l’anunci de les Festes de la Mercè [The costumes worn to announce the La Mercè festivities] (1952-1981)” presents the outfits of heralds, trumpeters, drummers, pages, etc. and their accessories, corresponding to the collection of Barcelona festival costumes used by the municipality in the city’s most important celebrations: the Three Kings parade, the Corpus Christi procession, the Jocs Florals poetry competition or the La Mercè festivities, which have been bought and restored by our Federation.

Through the collection of costumes and numerous archive images, objects and documents, the exhibition gives visitors the chance to learn more about the creation and evolution of the liturgy and the staging of the Festival Announcement which, for La Mercè (a festival under construction), was made between 1952 and 1981.

The exhibition has been put together by the Federació d’Entitats de Cultura Popular i Tradicional de Barcelona Vella and will be open to visitors at La Casa dels Entremesos during the La Mercè festivities.
