Festival Eve Night
23 September is the eve of the big day. During the day, the sardanas and human towers take centre stage, but when the sun sets, the streets are transformed to make way for the giants.
Three groups, the Giants of the City, the Giants of el Pi and the Giants of Santa Maria del Mar - come out escorted by the Capgrossos Macers, the Macebearer Big-Heads, and a traditional music band, while the rest of the giants stay at the City Hall, getting ready for the following day’s festivities.
Festival Eve Night, organised by the Barcelona Giants Coordination Committee, is a magical night when the giants come to life and the city buzzes with their presence. A unique celebration that reminds us of the wealth of our traditions and the magic found in every corner of the city.
