The second call for subsidy applications for 2020 is now open for group projects in fields such as energy savings, greenery, sustainable mobility and waste management. Interested parties should present their proposal between now and 26 July.
These subsidies seek to provide incentives for projects which help in the fight against the climate emergency in the city and offer solutions to achieve the goals in the Declaration of the Climate Emergency and the Climate Plan. The idea is to strengthen people’s involvement and support collective projects in this area, as well as to provide backing for work on co-creation processes with various organisations.
Subsidies can cover up to 80% of the cost of the project, up to a maximum of 20,000 euros. Subsidised projects should be carried out within a maximum of 12 months. Proposals can be presented up until 26 July, online only via the City Council’s e-headquarters and following the instructions given.
The evaluation of proposals will take into consideration the number of group members, the goals, organisation and management of the project. The associated environmental strategy will also be assessed, as will projected communication and the project’s contribution within the working framework of the Declaration of the Climate Emergency and the Climate Plan.
Each project put forward should involve at least three legal entities. While organisations are grouped, each initiative should define one single interlocutor and be led by a member of the Barcelona + Sostenible network.
The first call was launched in 2018 and enabled eleven projects to be developed in fields such as sustainable mobility, waste management, the circular economy, greenery and energy efficiency and the fight against energy poverty.
A virtual information session will be held on Thursday 9 July to address any queries. Prior registration is required.
