The LGBTI Centre resumes its usual opening times. The centre is reopening, as of 5 October, on Mondays, 4 pm to 9 pm, and Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 10 am to 2pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm. The changes coincide with the start of the autumn activities programme.

Work has been carried out over the last few weeks to adapt all the types of functions so they comply with the various health recommendations. As a result, the LGBTI Centre has designed hybrid activities that can be followed remotely through YouTube and in person. In the latter case, audience capacities will be reduced, requiring advance registration, which is for free, by emailing to info@centrelgtbibcn.org. Remember, what is more, that wearing a mask is mandatory when using the LGBTI Centre’s facilities. All workshops will be held remotely through Zoom, until further notice, whereas exhibitions will be accessible for free, subject to social distancing.

Meanwhile, face-to-face and remote personal-assistance services (shelter, counselling etc.) will offered, but always by prior appointment (info@centrelgtbibcn.org).

Organisations, ready for the autumn

Resident organisations at the LGBTI Centre are also remaining at your side, adapting their activities’ participant capacities and their service operations. Gais Positius will continue offering their quick-test service for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C, Mondays to Fridays, from 10 am to 2 pm, by appointment (932 980 642). This autumn, what is more, will see the resumption of the Mutual Help Groups (Fridays, 7 pm to 9 pm) and the Long Time Survivor workshops, taking place on 5, 19 and 26 October and 2 November. You can contact the organisation by emailing to gaispositius@gaispositius.org.

For its part, the Observatory against Homophobia (OCH) is maintaining its general advice and counselling services. They will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10 am to 2 pm. The Complaints Office, by contrast, will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 pm to 8 pm. In both cases users will have to request an appointment by emailing to coordinacio@och.cat or calling 932 172 669. Emergency situations will be handled by phone on 699 901 651.

The Casal Lambda will be continuing its telephone helpline service, until further notice, in the morning and its face-to-face service in the afternoon, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The service is by prior appointment, which can be made by calling 933 195 550, sending WhatsApp message to 679 205 204 or emailing to atencio@lambda.cat. These activities can be checked out from the lambda.cat/agenda website.

Last but not least, FLG – the Association of LGBTI Families, will be combining remote advice and information chats with face-to-face consultations and advice. The latter require prior appointments, which can be made by calling 645 318 860 or from the familieslg@familieslg.org mailbox. The association’s activities and projects can be consulted from the www.familieslg.org website.
