The International Council on Archives has chosen Barcelona to host its international congress in 2025. The event is held every four years and brings together professionals from this sector to discuss issues and projects for archives on a global scale.

Barcelona’s candidacy, jointly promoted by the Government of Catalonia and the Association of Archivists and Record Managers of Catalonia, will organise the 2025 congress under the slogan ‘Discovering pasts. Creating futures’, with debates on issues relating to archives and the challenges facing the profession.

The congress should bring together over 3,000 people from around the world, including specialist archivists, record managers and data managers. There will also be an option to attend online, guaranteeing the participation of everybody interested.
