More than 60 restaurateurs are taking part in this three-month solidarity initiative.
Today, the La Boqueria Market was the setting for the presentation of the9th edition of the Solidarity Tapa, an initiative organised by the Casal dels Infants. This year, over 60 restaurateurs from Barcelona and Catalonia are taking part. Each of the collaborating restaurants will donate €0.50 from the price of the tapa on their menu to the Casal dels Infants.
During the three-month initiative, the money raised will go to the Vincles mother and child project, where mothers with babies aged 0 to 3 are given support so that their maternity can also be an opportunity for a better future. Last year’s edition of Solidarity Tapa raised over €24,000.
The initiative started in October 2011, sponsored by Albert and Ferran Adrià. The aim was for Catalan restaurants to join forces with the Casal des Infants, which supports over 7,000 children, young people and families from neighbourhoods suffering the most inequality, so that they can have opportunities to get ahead.
