Bioeconomy and sustainability

The third area looks at wood today, that is, at the resurgence it has enjoyed in recent years in design and architecture. It focuses on a wooden-house prototype that meets the needs and challenges of the environment, as a model for sustainability and the circular economy, basically manufactured with wood, cork and straw. A large number of wooden items can be seen, together with the house, designs from the last few decades to the present day, which use it as a basic material at the service of energy, health, furniture, packaging, games and so on. Cork is also found in new wooden architecture, as it is essential for obtaining high thermal- and acoustic-sustainability indices with the environmental impact that this represents.
