Percussionist and composer Núria Andorrà and performer La Señorita Blanco come together for the first time to intervene in Esquellòrium, the large-scale sound installation that occupies the foyer of L’Auditori’s Sala 1, in a performance marking the end of the season.

Olga Blanco, also known as La Señorita Blanco, returns with this performance to a deeply rooted aspect of her artistic practice, which focuses on the exploration of landscapes. The sound of cowbells is a recurring material in her work. On this occasion, alongside Núria Andorrà, she draws on the sonic possibilities of Esquellòrium to reflect on the extractivist view of nature in contemporary society, as well as the loss of a sense of belonging, origin, and class consciousness.

A session that evokes the everyday, imaginary, or non-existent worlds that dwell in individual and collective memory.

The term “borrego estrellao” refers to lambs affected by a parasitic disease that attacks the brain, causing disorientation and circular movements before their death. This disease often originates from the sheepdogs that accompany the flock. By affecting the nervous system of the sheep, it leads shepherds to say that the lambs “go mad,” spin endlessly, and eventually wander off and die from starvation.
