The Barcelona Observatory of Migration and Refuge is a detailed X-ray of migratory dynamics and their impact on the city. The goal of the study is to have real, reliable data that provide a clearer understanding of migratory dynamics, the living conditions of foreigners from different countries and the transformations that all of this means for the city’s population as a whole.
The study was conducted by collecting and processing data in order to better comprehend how transnational migrations influence life in the city. The report combines information from surveys and government records and thus offers a comprehensive, reliable picture of migration.
The availability of real data and their trends over time will facilitate the design of more effective public policies and help to counter hate speech, which is often based on false premises.
