The SOAPI is a municipal service, found in all the city's districts, that specialises in receiving and providing support to immigrants. It offers information, guidance, support and advice on getting to know the local area, how to register in the municipal residents’ register, getting a health card, language learning, foreign national procedures, rights and duties, associations, leisure and culture, among other matters.
s provided for in Act 10/2010, of 7 May, on the reception of immigrants and returnees to Catalonia, the SOAPI provides the initial reception service.
ACTIVITIES OFFERED BY THE SERVICE
It offers group sessions in the districts and on-demand sessions at different entities and services. It also offers module C of the training course on Knowledge of Catalan society and its legal framework. Some activities may provide translation services.
Information sessions
These are held on a monthly basis in all of the city’s districts for migrant people who live in Barcelona. They are 90 minutes long and offer general information on how to register in the municipal residents’ register, getting a health card, schooling, language learning, the initial reception service, immigration services and other resources in the city. .

Module C (Knowledge of Catalan society and its legal framework.
15-hour training course, delivered in Catalan and provided for in the Act on the reception of immigrants and returnees to Catalonia. Together with module A and B, it forms part of the Initial Reception Service Certificate.

Sessions in entities and services
These sessions, for entities and services that work with newly arrived migrants, are organised according to demand, cover either general or specific matters. They are designed for groups of a minimum of 10 people and last approximately 90 minutes.
