The Barcelona OMIC takes part in the 24th Local Consumption Network Meeting

Held in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the meeting focused on innovation, collaboration between municipalities and the defence of consumer rights.

The 24th Local Consumption Network Meeting was held at the Espai Neàpolis in Vilanova i la Geltrú on 29 October. The Barcelona Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC) took part, along with other public consumer services from Catalonia, sharing knowledge and strengthening networking.

The event included a central conference on artificial intelligence and its impact in the sphere of consumer affairs, as well as a number of recent experiences promoted by local services. Innovative projects and municipal collaboration models geared towards better protection for consumers were also presented.

One of the aspects that stood out at the meeting was the presentation of new awareness activities aimed at citizens, the goal being to foster more responsible, informed and sustainable consumption.

The event concluded with an institutional visit to the Biblioteca-Museu Víctor Balaguer, rounding off an edition shaped by the shared commitment to consumer rights.
