The 14th award by the Barcelona Municipal Immigration Council (CMIB) recognises the work of the organisation Regularización Ya, which is collecting signatures for the Spanish parliament to process a popular legislative initiative for a special regularisation of foreign nationals in Spain.
Fedelatina, the federation of Latin American organisations in Catalonia received a special mention.
The CMIB seeks to promote the recognition of projects and work of special interest relating to the political and institutional participation of migrants, introduce the reality and wealth brought by diversity in the city and contribute to the improvement of the rights of migrants within the context of International Migrants Day.
