Disruptions to L2 and L4 metro services from 5 to 8 December

The work will affect the L4 section between Passeig de Gràcia and La Pau from 6 to 8 December. On these same dates, accessibility work means that the platform at the L2 Clot station for trains in the direction of Badalona Pompeu Fabra will be out of service.

Work continues to renew the metro infrastructure in the city and improve the service offered. The Catalan Government’s Ministry for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition will be renewing the signage in a section of 13 stations on the L4 from 6 to 8 December, from Passeig de Gràcia to La Pau. The work means services will be suspended for these three days.

The work will affect two further stations, Girona and Verdaguer, from 5 am to 8 am on Monday, 8 December, meaning that for these three hours the affected section will be longer, from La Pau to Verdaguer.

The station of Passeig de Gràcia will have one platform in service, in the direction of Trinitat Nova, with the section between Passeig de Gràcia and Trinitat Nova circulating normally.

While the line is closed, TMB will be laying on a special bus service with a stop at each of the affected stations, running during the same hours as the metro. Buses will run roughly every five minutes during rush hours, with 21 articulated buses in operation.

Disruptions at the L2 Clot station

During this same period, from 6 to 8 December, the Catalan Government will also be carrying out accessibility work at the L2 Clot station, meaning that the platform for trains in the direction of Badalona Pompeu Fabra will be closed. The work is needed to build the access corridor for the lift that will connect the L1 and L2 platforms at the same station.

Both sets of work are needed to move forward with the signage project for the L4, a process that will allow for more frequent trains and reduce incidents on the L4 in the future. At the same time, the process to complete accessibility work at all stations continues. In this case, the relevant work on the L2 needs to be carried out.

The work is scheduled for the long weekend of 6 to 8 December to affect the lowest volume of people possible.
