More progress in the fight against fake goods
Barcelona City Council and the Association for the Defence of Trademarks (ANDEMA) signed a training collaboration agreement today to fight the sale of fake goods. The goal of the agreement is to protect the city’s commerce and economy, as well as consumer rights.
The agreement will see ANDEMA collaborate with training for officers from the City Police relating to offences against industrial property, through various information sessions. This will help make it easier for officers to directly and diligently identify these types of offences. The City Council will provide the necessary facilities for the training sessions and help organise them.
The goal of the agreement is to actively fight the sale of fake goods and help raise public awareness about the value of authentic products, as well as the health and safety risks posed to consumers when it come to fake items.
