People need quality personal, family, and social time, and businesses and organizations need to better order their time. That is why the axes of time, work, family and social activity are fundamental to achieve a more egalitarian time for all, to put people at the center and in value, responsibility and care.
In the last years the uses of the time of the people have undergone important modifications fruit of several economic and social changes. The organization of working time, although marked by the culture of presence, is increasingly putting value in work by objectives and results. The current context of economic and financial crisis makes it necessary to implement time measures, to reconcile work, family, personal and social life to favor both companies and organizations as well as the people who work. At the same time, give visibility and value to care, combat the inequalities that go through their provision and reception, and promote co-responsibility between different social actors.
From this perspective, companies and organizations that implement innovative measures of time flexibility, conciliation and co-responsibility or remote work agree on highlighting the results that these actions generate. Some of the benefits are increased worker and customer satisfaction, increased productivity, retention of talent, improved work climate or decreased turnover, absenteeism, and the level Of stress.
The Barcelona City Council considers that progress must be made towards the democratization of care by developing a series of specific actions aimed at the labor market and building a new model of working time articulation that will improve the quality of life of people And in the welfare of society in general.
