‘Tast a la Rambla’ fills the centre of Barcelona with flavour
Over 400,000 people enjoyed tastings, musical performances and cookery displays in Plaça de Catalunya. The best-selling tapa was ‘Burger Vacanal’, by the chef Nandu Jubany.

The centre of Barcelona turned into a big culinary stage with Tast a la Rambla. The 400,000 plus visitors were able to savour some highly original hamburgers, tapas with Italian pasta and truffle, rice with octopus and Catalan botifarra pork sausage with paprika allioli.
Organised in collaboration with Barcelona City Council, the four-day event featured 65 free activities, including tastings, musical performances with flamenco dancing offered by the Tablao Flamenco Cordobés, plus cookery displays.
The most successful dishes included the ‘Burger Vacanal’, by Michelin-star chef Nando Jubany. Other chefs such as Dani García from the restaurant Leña Barcelona; Renato Guiomar from La Mafia Mexicana; Michele Granziera from Cecconi’s, and Alex Jiménez from Família Nuri, also triumphed with their dishes.
Tast a la Rambla is an initiative organised by Amics de la Rambla and aimed at bringing the finest cuisine into a public space, turning it into a four-day event for people to get together and enjoy. This year’s edition also paid homage to the career of Barcelona chef Carles Gaig, with the 2nd Tast a La Rambla Award.
